How often should you receive a massage?

This will depend on your overall health. Typically, someone with no specific complaints or problem areas would most likely benefit from monthly massages for maintenance purposes. However, those with more chronic pains and problem areas will benefit more from receiving massages once or twice a week to achieve the desired results. Once those results are achieved monthly follow-up visits are encouraged to help keep old pains from returning. 

Many people find it extremely beneficial to receive massage in conjunction with other supportive measures like chiropractic treatments and physical therapy. Exercise, getting adequate rest and a healthy diet will help maintain your results from your massage for a substantial period of time.

There some health conditions that may require a doctor’s approval prior to treatment. Some conditions may contraindicate massage all together; this means in some cases a certain illness can prevent someone from receiving any massage service.
